Never thought I'd say this, but I'm starting to get into portraits. I never enjoyed portrait photography, either as a photographer or an audience, but all of a sudden I find myself appreciating it a lot more as a genre. Not classic studio portraits, mind you - still far too posed for my taste. But I'm really appreciating the creativity and work that goes into capturing a really good portrait in the moment. And especially photos of kids - they're so much more genuine than adults, and pictures of children convey such different emotions. Also they tend to have amazing eyes. What happens to our eyes as we get older?

Or maybe that's just the teacher-slash-getting-impatient-about-having-my-own-kids part of me talking.

Anyway, that's why the sudden blitzkrieg of photo uploads, half of them portraits, along with a wave of faves (did NOT intend for that to rhyme). Have to go out and find some people to take pictures of now. And time in which to shoot. On a clear day in Beijing. And while we're at it, a million dollars and my own personal pegasus would be nice.
